Transfer to Junior Education September 2026

If your child was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019 and is in their last year of infant school you should also apply for their junior school place between the 10 November 2025 and the 15 January 2026. You can still apply after this date, but your application will be treated as late.

The application process is quick and easy and you can apply for a place here: Derbyshire County Council - Apply for a School Place

From midnight on 16 April 2026, you can log into your account to see your allocated school place.

If you applied online, Derbyshire County Council will also email you on 16 April 2026 with the decision. If you didn't apply online a decision letter will be posted to you. For applications made on and after this date your decision will be emailed to you once they have processed your application.

Mid-year transfers to Kensington Junior Academy

Any requests for admission mid-year will be dealt with by Derbyshire County Council.

Visits to the school by prospective parents are welcome - contact the office to make an appointment.
